What does Father Joe’s Villages do?
Mission: Father Joe’s Villages is a multi-city homeless rehabilitation organization dedicated to addressing the immediate and ongoing needs of underprivileged children, families and individuals who, for various reasons, have found themselves without basic life necessities.
How do I volunteer at Balboa Park?
San Diegans with prior knowledge of Balboa Park and San Diego in general. Able to complete 20 hours of orientation training. Willing to attend additional meetings as required. Willing to complete a background check and fingerprinting (at no cost)
What do you wear to a soup kitchen volunteer?
Volunteers should wear closed toed comfortable shoes. Long pants/skirt are acceptable, and volunteers of any gender may not wear sleeveless shirts, tank-tops or crop tops. Volunteers must cover their head with a hat or hairnet. We provide aprons but wear clothes that you do not mind getting dirty.
