What is the difference between night vision and digital night vision?
In true night vision, an intensifier tube is used to amplify ambient light. Rather than amplifying natural light, a digital night vision device converts an optical image into an electrical signal through a Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) image sensor.

Is digital night vision better?
Digital NV devices have a longer lifespan than analog devices. The NV performance degrades through the lifespan of analog night vision optics. If an analog NV device is used in broad daylight, the image intensifier tube gets ruined and has to be replaced. Digital devices can usually be used in the daytime.
