The mpem’s purpose is to receive and interpret information, distributes that information, start/stop functions (controls the igniton), the DESS, and the engine rev limiter. In some models, the ignition system and rectifier are built into the mpem, in others, it’s seperate.

you can take the MPEM out to the ski and test to make sure your fix worked. if it worked, remove the MPEM and fill the areas you removed with silicone. coat the inside of the hard plastic MPEM cover with a thin amount of silicone and reinstall the cover over the MPEM.

Do you need to replace the ignition module on a seadoo?
