No, we do not allow any type of swimming, wading or body contact in Lake Casitas. It is because Lake Casitas is a drinking water supply.
What time does Lake Casitas open?
We are pleased to announce that the Lake Casitas Recreation Area is open every day for day use from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm. This includes vehicle entry, boating entry, walk-in and bicycles.
Where does Lake Casitas water come from?
The surface water comes from Lake Casitas, located near the junction of Highway 150 and Santa Ana Road. The ground water is drawn from the Mira Monte Well, located in Mira Monte. Most of the watershed is federally protected to limit contamination of the lake.
How much is a day pass at Lake Casitas?
If you just want to visit for the day, day use hours are 6:30am to 6:30pm. There is a $10 entry fee per vehicle on weekdays & $20 entry fee per vehicle on weekends (Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays). Please call 805-649-2233 for more information. Our playgrounds & park showers are currently open.
Can you kayak on Lake Casitas?
Lake Casitas is a perfect setting to kayak or canoe. Once inspected and approved, kayaks and canoes must only launch at Lake Ca sitas (without a re-inspection process) so that Lake Casitas will continue to be protected from invasive mussels.

Can I take my boat to Lake Casitas?
Because Lake Casitas is a drinking water supply and allows no body to water contact, boating is limited. There is no water skiing or jet skiing. Furthermore, Lake Casitas has one of the strictest Quagga and Zebra Mussels inspection systems in the state.

Not a problem as there are two dump stations within the Lake Casitas recreation area, free if you are staying at the park. No swimming is allowed, but there is a Water Park that you can go into for an additional day fee. There is also lots of picnicking, bike trails and disc golf.
